Introduction to the Department of Agricultural Marketing

بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم

The Agricultural Marketing Department is considered one of the essential academic departments. The purpose of establishing this department is to provide students with opportunities for both theoretical and practical professional education in this field. This will enable them to identify the challenges related to agricultural marketing in the country’s agricultural sector and to find appropriate solutions. Furthermore, it will contribute to strengthening agricultural marketing, improving the management of agricultural products, and ultimately enhancing the overall living standards of the population.
The development and revision of the academic curriculum is an essential pillar within a country’s higher education system. A curriculum that is based on scientific and international standards and foundations plays a significant role in the comprehensive development of society and provides clear and beneficial outcomes for future generations. Achieving these objectives and designing a bachelor’s degree curriculum in accordance with national and international norms is an effective and valuable undertaking, which is also considered essential at the global level. Countries that have made continuous and tireless efforts in the field of higher education, and that possess standardized academic curricula while implementing research and theory into practice, have achieved remarkable progress and are now among the developed nations of the world.
Without modern academic curricula and higher education, the development of a country is not possible. For this reason, the Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan has paid special attention to this area. By the grace and support of Almighty God, the Agricultural Marketing Department—being a newly established department—has successfully completed its bachelor’s degree curriculum and is now ready for implementation.
The professional curriculum development teams, under the leadership of the Directorate of National Curriculum Development of the Ministry of Higher Education, have carefully and comprehensively prepared the Agricultural Marketing bachelor’s degree curriculum for the first time. This curriculum has been developed in accordance with the country’s higher education policy and has been systematically organized for Emirate universities. During the development process, consultations and feedback were obtained—both directly and through questionnaires—from academic staff, students, agricultural faculties and departments of various public and private universities in the country, private agricultural companies, and other relevant stakeholders. Their views and recommendations have been incorporated into the curriculum.
The Bachelor’s program in Agricultural Marketing is being introduced for the first time in response to the necessity identified by the Ministry of Higher Education and in accordance with societal demands and current conditions. This program is of great importance because, with the comprehensive support of the Ministry of Higher Education and the cooperation of specialized professors in the relevant field, the bachelor’s program will be implemented in line with international standards. Through this initiative, the country’s higher education system will gradually strengthen and progress in this field.
