Message from the Dean

All praise is due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah.

Allah Almighty created animals for the benefit and comfort of humankind, and at the same time commanded kindness and good treatment toward them. Whoever mistreats animals, neglects their care, or fails to provide them with a suitable environment is considered sinful. Animal husbandry is an inseparable part of agriculture, playing a vital role in the economic system both nationally and internationally, and guiding nations toward progress and prosperity.

The Faculty of Animal Sciences, which provides services in three key areas—nutrition, breeding, and animal management—has a direct impact on the quantity and quality of animal products, thereby ensuring effectiveness and productivity.

The existence of the Faculty of Animal Sciences within the framework of the Afghanistan National Agricultural Science and Technology University (ANASTU) holds an important and vital role. Moreover, for the southwestern region, the establishment of this faculty is regarded as one of the significant academic centers that has historically received attention. At the national level, alongside specialists in other fields, the presence of experts in animal sciences is essential and considered a priority.

The Faculty of Animal Sciences at ANASTU, with its young and energetic academic staff, is committed to tireless efforts in the fields of animal nutrition, breeding, and management, aiming to position this academic institution among the leading centers of animal sciences worldwide. This strategic plan of the Faculty of Animal Sciences has been prepared for five years within the framework of the Ministry of Higher Education’s guidelines, structured into seven chapters. In addition to the faculty’s professors, consultations were sought from various academic staff of ANASTU. Furthermore, based on the strategic plan guidelines of the Ministry of Higher Education, advice was also taken from regional leaders and professionals in this field.

The academic staff and all employees of the Faculty of Animal Sciences are dedicated to aligning this institution with high standards under the guidance of this strategic plan, and to presenting committed and professional individuals to society in the field of animal husbandry. I pray to Allah Almighty that this academic center prospers in serving the country, the region, and the discipline of animal sciences, and that it becomes a source of ongoing charity for all those involved in this field.
