Introduction to the Vice Chancellery for Academic Affairs

Like other higher education institutions in Afghanistan, the National Agricultural Sciences and Technology University of Afghanistan has a Vice Chancellor's Office for Academic Affairs, supported by its organizational units. This office is responsible for organizing and managing all academic affairs in accordance with the applicable laws, regulations, and bylaws of the Ministry of Higher Education. Guided by the University's vision and mission, it works toward achieving the institution's strategic academic objectives. Academic activities are carried out through four faculties—Plant Sciences, Animal Sciences, Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, and Veterinary Sciences—comprising seventeen (17) academic departments and supported by one hundred and three (103) experienced faculty members. Undergraduate (Bachelor's) programs are conducted in accordance with the academic calendar, and in the solar year 1404 (corresponding to 1446 AH), five (5) Master's degree programs were officially launched.
In addition, the Vice Chancellor's Office for Academic Affairs assumes responsibility for managing the University's administrative affairs in the absence of the President. It oversees the academic and procedural aspects of recruiting academic and contractual staff based on the needs of the faculties, implements all activities related to quality assurance and accreditation, develops and executes academic plans, prepares the agenda for the University's Academic Council, reviews and evaluates university regulations, bylaws, and procedures while proposing amendments to higher authorities whenever necessary, assesses and updates the curriculum in line with contemporary needs and international standards, facilitates the resources required for students' academic and field-based activities, and performs other responsibilities assigned in accordance with the University's academic mandate.

The National Agricultural Sciences and Technology University of Afghanistan aspires to become a leading university at the national and regional levels by contributing to the modernization of the agriculture and livestock sectors through qualified human resources and the delivery of high-quality education, research, and academic services.

The National Agricultural Sciences and Technology University of Afghanistan is committed to conducting scientific research and utilizing modern technologies to address the needs of society in the fields of agriculture and livestock. The University educates competent, dedicated, and highly qualified professionals at the Bachelor's and Master's levels while contributing to national economic development and the sustainable stability of the country through its academic, research, and community service initiatives.
