Introduction to the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources

The Natural Resources and Forestry department has officially been inaugurated in the year 2020. The total number of official lecturers in this department are six where one out of six is currently in overseas pursuing his higher studies of MSc. The curriculum of this department has officially been not validated and not confirmed by the ministry of higher education. The strategic plan, policy, and teaching improvement plans of the department are being finalized. Due to the low number of the present lecturers, this department is so far inactive for the students’ enrollment. However, In the near future, this department will be open for students to be enrolled in both undergraduate and graduate studies. Besides, all regular activities of the department will gradually be normalized.
Vision
Standardizing forestry adjustment and reforestation on regional and national level. Utilizing and protecting national parks and wild animals. Advanced teaching quality. Training well and qualified scientific and professional staff.
Mission
Preparation of learning, teaching, researching, and transition of the scientific values platform to the young students through nationalized mission and scientific boosted capacity in order to play important rule for the civilization and development of advanced society.
Goal
Training skilled and Technical professionals in the field of natural resources and forestry. Sustaining natural and artificial resources. Adopting advanced extensions systems for the purpose of sustainable development. And giving special consideration to the suitability and protection of the natural resources and ecology, pasture and grazing, forests, Wild life, and deserts.

Strategic Plan
For the attaining strategic objectives and mastermind daily operations, The Natural Resources and Forestry department has devised a plan which collaboratively developed by the members of department, from a comprehensive five-year (2022–2026), strategic plan of plant science faculty, this plan is corresponding with the short-term and long-term goals and strategies of the Plant Science Faculty and ANASTU university. It encompasses vital aspects such as departmental introduction, capacity building, ensuring standard teaching practices, practical and lab work, implementing reforms, attaining quality assurance standards, maintaining standard equipment, and economic thoughts. The plan accurately addresses both opportunities and challenges through all aspects of the department.
Action Plan
The action made for meeting daily objectives and execute the strategic plan effectively. The Natural Resources and Forestry department has developed a series of action plans, including:
• Yearly Action Plan: Formulated annually, this plan aligns with the strategic objectives and is implemented accordingly.
• Quadratic Plan: Developed based on the yearly plan, the quadratic plan further refines and guides departmental activities.
• Teaching Improvement Plan: At the start of each semester, an academic plan is devised to manage and enhance teaching activities throughout the semester.
• Individual Action Plan: Every lecturer creates a personalized action plan at the beginning of each semester, outlining tasks related to teaching, academics, and administration.
• Annual Program Monitoring Action Plan: an annual action plan for program monitoring is crafted at the commencement of each academic year and implemented accordingly.
Action Report
• Academic Promotion: work for academic promotion of three faculty members to the level of associate professor.
• Conference Participation: Encouraging lecturers to actively participate in academic conferences and workshops to share knowledge and insights.
• Manuscript Submission: Supporting lecturers in the preparation and submission of academic manuscripts to both international and national journals.
• Routine Departmental Management: Efficiently managing day-to-day departmental activities and submitting monthly reports to the Plant Science Faculty.
• Timely Correspondence: Ensuring prompt responses to formal letters, fostering effective communication within the department
