Introduction to the Department of Soil Science & Irrigation

Department of Soil Science and Irrigation is a new department established in 2012 in the Faculty of Plant Sciences, Afghanistan National Agricultural Sciences and Technology University, six skillful and professional lecturers have a membership department 5 of them a master's and 1 has PhD from different countries, teaching students and conducting researches. Currently, the department has bachelor students, other than master students, and bachelor and master’s curricula have been endorsed by the Ministry of Higher Education.
Vision
Department of Soil Science and Irrigation, as an academic organ, provides teaching, research, and extension services to the society and will be in the first position in solving the society’s problems.
Mission
Department of Soil Science and Irrigation decides that based on the international standards, and due to Islamic perspective, manage soil and water and solving of related problems will be their priorities.
Objectives
• Sustainable management of soil and water, which are natural resources.
• Solving problems related to soil, water, and irrigation in society.
• Using new theories, scientific developments, and inventions in order to provide a sustainable agriculture system.
As an academic organ, it assesses society, economic, and environmental issues regarding soil, water, and irrigation.
