Message from the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
All praise is due to Allah, Who taught by the pen and taught humankind what it did not know. Peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad, his pure and noble family, and his chosen companions.
Allah Almighty created animals for the benefit and well‑being of humans and instructed us to treat them with kindness, gentleness, and compassion. Those who do not care for animals or fail to provide them with a suitable environment cannot gain proper benefit from them. Animal husbandry is an inseparable part of agriculture and the economy, playing a vital role in the development of national and international economic systems.
The advancement of veterinary sciences has a direct impact on the quantity and quality of animal products and contributes significantly to efficiency and productivity. Animal health and food safety are among the most important and influential components of veterinary sciences, playing a crucial role in preventing deadly diseases. Globally, veterinary sciences are essential for achieving the objectives of the “One Health” approach. If animal diseases are not controlled, they pose serious threats to human, animal, and even plant life.
The Faculty of Veterinary Sciences at the Afghanistan National Agricultural Sciences and Technology University is a vital academic center in the southwestern region of the country. Its existence fulfills the national need for professional veterinary doctors and plays a foundational role in scientific progress and community well‑being. The academic staff of the faculty is committed to teaching, research, and extension services. Their goal is to elevate the faculty to international standards and to prepare professional and dedicated veterinary doctors for society.
We pray to Allah Almighty that this academic center may shine in serving our country, our region, and the veterinary profession, and that the efforts of the faculty’s staff be accepted as ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah).
Respectfully,
Associate Professor Ahmadullah "Zahir"
Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences
